HOAC runs three instructors courses

RYA Dinghy Instructor Course - 25th - 29th October 2010

Prerequisites - RYA Pre-Assessment, RYA Level 2 Powerboat, RYA Membership, Minimum 8hour emergency first aid.

Cost: £250 including all logbooks and work books for course

Prerequisites - New BCU 2 Star, Canoe Safety Test or Foundation Safety and Rescue, BCU Membership, Registered for training with the BCU in advance.

During October Half Term we will be running the New BCU Level 1 Coach Training & Assessment. These four days consist of practical sessions on the water and theory sessions ashore, learning coaching techniques and group management skills to give successful candidates everything they need to teach kayaking/canoeing. 

Cost: £250

BCU Level 2 Coach Training  - 25th - 28th October 2010

Prerequisites - BCU/UKCC Level 1 Coach Award, BCU 3 Star in kayak / canoe, New BCU 2 Star, Canoe Safety Test or Foundation Safety and Rescue, BCU Membership, Registered for training with the BCU in advance.

During October Half Term we will be running the New BCU Level 2 Coach Training. The emphasis of the training course is to 'observe, analyse and implement'. This means of experimenting with new coaching styles and techniques. This will  give successful candidates everything they need to teach kayaking/canoeing at the next level.

Pre Assessment Training Week - 22nd - 27th August
Pre Assessment Day Only - 27th August

This course works on skills from the RYA Seamanship skills award, with the final day being the the Dinghy Preassessment!

Cost £200 for 6 day course - including all logbooks and certificates for the course
or
Cost £55 for Pre-assessment day only

RYA Windsurfing Non-Planing & Clinics - 23rd - 27th August

The 5 days will be spent working on the RYA Fastforward non-planing and planing skills, which include harness and footstrp work, faster tacking and improved steering skills aiming at getting to the entry level to become a Start Windsurfing Instructor.

Cost £165 - including all logbooks and and certificates for the course

New BCU 2*- 18th & 25th September

This 2day course will be spent improving your Kayaking and Canoeing skills working towards achieving 2 Star.

Cost - £90 (Successful candiates will be issued with pass slips which with a £5 payment can be sent to the BCU for a certificate)

Foundation Safety & Rescue Test - 26th September

The day is spent working on, onwater and shorebased rescues in order to gain your award.

Cost - £75 (Successful candiates will be issued with pass slips which with a £12 payment can be sent to the BCU for a Certificate)

Powerboat Level 1&2 Course - November 2010                                             

Cost £235 - Includes all course books and certificates
