Introduction to Sailing Week, (4 sailing + fun day) – 2.00pm – 5.00pm – £100
Tera /Oppi courses , 8 – 11 years – HSTP-M, 2.00pm – 5.00pm
This course will run along side the RYA scheme with HOAC awards to allow progress through the levels. The aim of the course is to learn the basics of sailing in a fun environment, working towards improving sailing techniques through practical exercises and games.
Introduction to Sailing Week – 10.00am – 5.00pm (4 sailing + fun day) – £200
Pico/Topper courses, 11 – 18 years – HSP-M
This course will introduce the RYA scheme and is suitable for complete beginners and those new to Picos. The course will work on the Stage 1 and 2 syllabuses and will aim to improve their sailing and progress them through the HOAC and RYA scheme.
For full day sessions, supervision is provided during lunchtime activities.
Kayaking Introduction, £105 for 5 half days (4 kayaking + fun day)
8 – 10 years –HKA – M, 10.00am – 1.00pm and 11 – 18 years – HKP-M, 2.00pm – 5.00pm
This course is suitable for complete beginners and kayakers who already hold their HOAC bronze award. The syllabus covers the basic kayaking strokes and gets them comfortable going forwards, backwards and safely capsizing. Participants should come away from this course with either their HOAC Bronze or BC 1 star award.
Windsurfing Introduction, £125 for 5 half days (4 windsurfing + fun day)
11 – 18 years – HWP-M, 2.00pm – 5.00pm
This course is suitable for complete beginners as well as people who have already passed their NSSA bronze award. The course will give them an introduction into Windsurfing through land drills and games. The aim of the course is for children to improve their skills and work towards the NSSA bronze and silver award.
Land Based Activities, £105 for 5 half days
Participants will do a number of team building challenges before trying their hand at archery, orienteering, fencing, trebuchet building, pedal karting, giant swing and the Commando Challenge. Moving onto the low ropes course they will learn responsibility before progressing onto our climbing and abseiling tower and man made caving system.
This course will include a number of team building challenges, archery, fencing and low ropes course where they can improve their balance and confidence. Moving onto HOAC’s caving system; they can navigate the tunnels and gain confidence to adapt to unfamiliar conditions. They will also get the chance to do pedal karting and the Commando Challenge.
Splash Zone, £110 for 5 half days (4 days of watersports + fun day)
8 – 10 years – HSZ-M, 10.00am – 1.00pm
This exciting course offers a fun filled week with a range of watersports including: Windsurfing, Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUPing), Wobbleboarding, Rafting, Kayaking and Canoeing. This is the perfect chance to get a taste of the sports without committing to a full course.
Sculling, £105 for 5 half days (4 sculling + fun day)
This course covers the basic sculling strokes to correct sequencing and posture, building confidence and balance. The aim of the course is for participants to learn to scull and work towards gaining awards. Those 14 years+ will work towards the British Rowing Stage 1 and 2 of the Explore Rowing Scheme. Those under 14 years will work towards the equivalent HOAC scheme awards.
