This day is very popular therefore advanced booking is strongly advised, although booking on the day may be possible if there is a cancellation (ring for availability)
This is intended to be a fun day when all participants will be given the opportunity to try Canoeing, Sailing, Rowing and Motor boat rides.
No previous experience is necessary but participants must be confident in the water in the event of a capsize. The Centre provides buoyancy aids and these must be worn by all those going afloat. Qualified instructors and assistants will run the activities.
There are machines that provide hot/cold drinks, chocolate bars and snacks or you could bring a packed lunch.
The Centre has third party and public liability insurance. If you require personal accident insurance you are advised to arrange it prior to the event.
It is the responsibility of the group’s leaders to ensure that there are adequate numbers of carers to attend to their groups needs.
Soft shoes such as plimsolls or trainers are ideal. These may get wet. A T-shirt, sweatshirt & tracksuit trousers are best for the water activities. In cold or wet weather a number of thin layers are better than one thick jumper. Waterproofs will give protection from wind and rain if you have them. Avoid wearing jeans or wellingtons. Bring at least one complete change of clothes, including footwear and a towel.
Please download the Water Sports Day 2017 application form and return it with the relevant payment. Places are limited and there is no admittance on the day. If you require further details please contact the Centre.
