Due to Covid-19 we are having to change the way in which we operate to ensure staff and customers are safe while at the centre. This means that anyone wishing to visit the centre to hire equipment or go out on the lake will need to book in advance.
You will be required to agree to the hire terms when you confirm your slot so please read the terms here
Our procedures on arrival are available here
Anyone hiring will need to be a member there are no options for day membership at present. Membership deals click here
Please note we have limited toilet and changing facilities currently at HOAC
In order to maintain social distancing we have changed our safe operating parameters which means we may need to close the water if it is windy.
You will also need to make the decision to only go out if you are comfortable and feel you are able to self-rescue.
Our safety team will obviously come to your assistance if required, but we have put in place measures to reduce the need to rescue.
For those in the government vulnerable category you are welcome to attend HOAC but by doing so you accept the following statement:
“I have been advised that I should consider whether or not my attendance is prudent in the circumstances and having done so, still wish to participate, in the full knowledge that I am in a category classed as vulnerable and there may be greater risks in my participation as a result”
If your session is cancelled you can be either refunded or have the booking moved to another day.
We will be offering Windsurfing Hire on Windsup boards. Please note you should be of RYA Start Windsurfing or NSSA Gold ability and able to butterfly rescue to hire.
We are not hiring sailing boats – to sail you need to be a member of Queensmead Sailing Club

Hire Slots are only available to members click here to take out membership.
