Sailing
Pico/Topper Intro Sailing All Day (11–18 years)
This course will runs the HOAC awards alongside the RYA scheme to allow progress through the levels. The aim of the course is to learn the basics of sailing in a fun environment, working towards improving sailing techniques through practical exercises and games.

Pico/Topper Sailing Improver All Day (11–18 years)
The improver course is suitable for sailors of RYA Stage 2 ability or above who want to improve their sailing. This course can certificate up to Stage 3, although sailors who already have their Stage 3 are welcome to attend to improve their sailing.

Double Handers Intro All Day (13-18 years)
This course is for experienced sailors who have already completed RYA Stage 3. It is the final part in the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme. Its aim is to apply all the skills learnt in Stages 1–3 in double-handed boats and works towards improving skills as helm and crew, from Platinum through to Stage 4. A variety of performance boats will be used throughout the course, providing the pre-requisite for entry to the advanced courses.

Kayaking
Intro to Kayaking (11-18 years)
This course is suitable for complete beginners and kayakers who already hold their HOAC Bronze award. The syllabus covers the basic kayaking strokes and gets them comfortable going forwards, backwards and safely capsizing. Participants should come away from this course with either their HOAC Bronze or British Canoeing Discover Award.

Kayaking Improvers (11-18 years)
This is the course for juniors who already hold their British Canoeing 1 Star award or BC Discover award and are able to swim 25 metres. This course will take place in both kayaks and canoes ans work on improving strokes learned on the Introduction course, as well as more advanced skills such as going sideways and learning rescues. This course will work towards HOAC’s Silver and Gold award in preparation for the British Canoeing Explore Award.

Windsurfing
Windsurfing Intro (11–18 years)
This course is suitable for complete beginners as well as those who have already passed their NSSA Bronze award. The course will give them an introduction into Windsurfing through land drills and games with plenty of practical time afloat. The aim of the course is for children to improve their skills and work towards the NSSA Bronze and Silver award.

Windsurfing Improvers (11–18 years)
This improver course is suitable for anyone with NSSA Silver or above. It will improve student’s stance and steering and take windsurfers through how to tack upwind and gybe downwind allowing them to windsurf around a course and return to the shore safely.

Watersports
Splash Zone (11-18 years)
This exciting course is aimed at all levels of ability and offers a fun-filled week with a range of watersports including:
- windsurfing
- stand up paddle boarding (SUPing)
- wobble boarding
- giant SUP or dragon boats
- kayaking
- canoeing
- sculling
This is the perfect chance to get a taste of the sports without committing to a full course. So, why not give it a go?

Sculling
Intro to Sculling (11-18 years)
The rowing/sculling courses are for 11 – 18 years. The course starts young rowers on the British Rowing ‘Go Row’ Scheme. This course is aimed at beginners who what to learn the basics of sculling however those that already hold awards are also welcome. At the end of the course there is the option of joining our weekly sculling club.
The course covers the basic sculling strokes to correct sequencing and posture, building confidence and balance. It is run over 4 half days where students will use single seated sculling boats before progressing onto mastering a coxed quad.
Students will work towards British Rowing Go Row Levels 1 to 3.

Land-Based Activities
Low Land (11-18 years)
This course will include:
- archery
- fencing
- low ropes course where they can improve their balance and confidence
- trebuchet
- bushcraft
- indoor rowing
Moving onto HOAC’s caving system; they can navigate the tunnels and gain confidence to adapt to unfamiliar conditions. They will also get a chance to do pedal karting and the commando challenge.

High Land (11-18 years)
The course includes belaying and climbing techniques and covers all activities within the high ropes facility.
The Aerial Challenge and fan descender is unavailable in 2020.
This includes:
- climbing
- abseiling
- 100m zip wire through the trees
- two-person leap of faith
You will also be hauled up in the air on a giant two-seater swing and experience a huge adrenaline rush as you swing through the trees.
