This First Aid course is designed for those who have an interest in outdoor activities including those from sport, leisure and recreation industry’s. This course covers life threatening conditions including CPR, bleeding control and choking.

Duration: 2 Days minimum 12 hours

• Responsibilities and reporting
• Resuscitation
• Angina
• Assessment of the situation
• Heart attacks
• Choking
• Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
• Minor injuries
• Seizures
• Basic hygiene in First Aid
• Bleeding control
• Shock
• Fractures
• Head injuries
• Asthma
• Drowning injuries
• Diabetes
• Burns
• Electrical injuries
• Spinal injuries
• Heat and cold

Minimum age: 14 years old

Students must be at least 14 years old. A 14/15-year-old cannot assume a responsibility in the workplace until they reach the age of 16, and then it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that the student is suitable for that role.

The course is run on a staffing ratio of 1 instructor to up to 12 students.

The qualification is assessed practically throughout the course. On successfully completion of the assessment students will be issued with a certificate which is valid for 3 years from the date of the course.
