Basic Life Support and Safe Use Of AED – Level 2 (RQF)

This course covers all the basic life support training including resuscitation but also gives students a practical confidence to use an AED.

Duration: 4 hours

• Responsibilities and reporting
• Assessment of the situation
• Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
• Infection control
• Resuscitation
• AED functions
• Defibrillation procedures
• Safety measures

Minimum age: 14 years old

Further information

The course is run on a staffing ratio of 1 instructor to up to 12 students.

The qualification is assessed both practically and through questioning alongside a written question paper at the end of the course. On successfully completion of the assessment students will be issued with a certificate which is valid for 3 years from the date of the course.
