First Aid at Work Re-qualification – FAA Level 3 (RQF)
This Ofqual approved course is a refresher course for those who are currently qualified as a First Aid at work first aiders and wish to continue for another 3 years. The course covered a wide variety of first aid conditions. This qualification is fully compliant with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982, ensuring that the workplace is fully prepared and compliant with all relevant legislation.
Duration: 2 Days minimum 12 hours

- Legalities, responsibilities and reporting
- Control of bleeding
- Poisoning
- Asthma
- Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
- Shock (including Anaphylaxis)
- Bandaging
- Diabetes
- Fractures and spinal injuries
- Heart attacks
- Choking
- Stroke
- Resuscitation and AED awareness
- Head injuries
- Eye injuries
- Burns
- Assessment of the situation
- Sprains and strains
- Chest injuries
- Epilepsy
Minimum age: 14 years old
Students must be at least 14 years old. A 14/15-year-old cannot assume a responsibility in the workplace until they reach the age of 16, and then it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that the student is suitable for that role.

The course is run on a staffing ratio of 1 instructor to up to 12 students.
The qualification is assessed both practically and through a written assessment. On successfully completion of the assessment students will be issued with a certificate which is valid for 3 years from the date of the course.

Rules for Attendance
- A First Aider can renew their FAW qualification by attending a 2-day requalification course without question if it’s within 1 month past the expiry date.
- If the First Aider has lapsed by more than 1 month, but no longer than 3 months, then the First Aider can requalify by attending a 2-day course providing ‘Special considerations’ have been applied. Please contact us if this applies before booking.
