Paediatric Emergency First Aid – FAA Level 3 (RQF)

This course is designed for those who care for children and babies including, parents, guardians and family members. The course gives knowledge and practical practise to dal with a range of paediatric first aid conditions and incidents.

Duration: 1 Day minimum 6 hours

Syllabus

• Role of the Paediatric First Aider
• Seizure
• Primary survey
• Choking
• Resuscitation (CPR including the safe use of an AED)
• Minor injuries
• Wounds, bleeding and shock
• Recovery position

Minimum age: 16 years old

Further information

The course is run on a staffing ratio of 1 instructor to up to 12 students.

The qualification is assessed both practically and through oral questioning. On successfully completion of the assessment students will be issued with a certificate which is valid for 3 years from the date of the course.
