HOAC’s summer holiday program
HOAC will be running a revised holiday program over the summer period, these plans are subject to any government changes to related to Covid-19
What will be offering?
Morning courses for 8 – 10 year olds in watersports 9:30-12:30
Afternoon courses for 11 -18 year olds in watersports 2pm – 5pm
We are not able to do full day bookings
We will be teaching at a ratio of 1:5
Arrival
Please do not arrive early for your session,we will not be doing our usual early morning drop off or late pick-up
Morning sessions arrive after 9:15am ready for a 9:30am start
Afternoon sessions arrive after 1:45pm ready for a 2pm start
Our normal changing rooms are closed. We have temporary tented changing areas for this summer, please consider arriving ready to go on the water to reduce demand on changing space, no showers are available.
Our vending machines are closed so please come with any snacks and drinks
On arrival please follow the signs, observe social distancing and register at the signing in desk.
We don’t have the space at the waterfront for lots of parents to stay during the lesson so would prefer it if you leave the site during the lesson
End of session.
Please collect your child promptly after the end of their session.
Morning sessions finish at 12:30 and all children should be collected by 12:45pm
Afternoon courses finish at 5pm and all children should be collected by 5:15pm
HOAC are not able to offer our normal supervision before and after sessions have finished so please ensure our program works effectively and our staff stay safe by dropping off and collecting promptly
During the session
HOAC have placed a lot of procedures in place to help maintain a 2m distance between staff and students. Please remind your child about their responsibilities before they arrive at HOAC.
Sessions will be run at a 1:5 ratio; keeping groups small will assist the instructor in maximising social distancing opportunities
Students will be expected to consider what they should be touching to minimise contact points where the virus can spread, instructors will ensure they are able to help were appropriate whilst maintaining a safe distance.
HOAC have an enhanced cleaning routine and will also have an allocation system to ensure equipment is only used by one person
However should staff need to break social distance guidelines for the purposes of first aid, performing a rescue or to assist a child we have measures in place to minimise the risk, including outside first aid areas, masks and other PPE available to ensure your child is looked after whilst at HOAC
Having said the above, although we have put in many measures to reduce the risk we are not able to completely remove the risk of contracting Covid 19 whilst at HOAC so by sending your child to HOAC you are doing so on the understanding that there is an increased risk of contracting the virus whilst at HOAC
If anyone in your family in the last 14 days has:
They shouldn’t come to HOAC, if this happens to you before the course then we will refund or if possible reschedule to a new date.
